Training
A former teacher, I have provided technical assistance and training to clients, developed curricula for advocacy organizations, and given workshops on designing communications materials.

I can create training materials for your staff, volunteers, board members or funders, to educate them about new regulations, procedures, or content. I can also revise and improve your current materials, and develop a “train the trainer” so your staff will be able to help new employees. Finally, I can facilitate the actual training, be it a three-hour introduction to your organization or a one-week in-depth look at issues and policies.
Design Workshop:
How to design flyers, newsletters, webpages, and other communications materials

You don’t have a professional designer in your office, but you and your staff still need to produce quality communications materials for different audiences. Come learn tips on layout, graphics, and design, as well as the writing style appropriate for public materials. Bring samples, either current pieces you’re struggling with or old pieces you want to learn from. The group will discuss how to improve your pieces, using the pointers provided during the session. You’ll be amazed at how much you learn in just a few hours!

Team up with other organizations in your building to sponsor a joint workshop, or have me come in just to talk to your staff. Workshop runs from 1 ˝ - 3 hours, depending on the content you want me to cover. Up to 25 staff can attend.
My workshops are very hands-on. Look at the old newsletter (left, click to enlarge). Why is the layout bad? What problems do you see? Now look at the new newsletter (far left). What makes it better?

Not sure? Want more ideas? Come to my workshop and become a mini-expert!
Grantwriting Workshop
Do you and your staff need to squeeze grantwriting into your regular job duties? Are you not sure you're finding the best leads and writing the most effective proposals? My workshop can give you the skills you need.

Learn how to find funding leads that are a good match between your programs and funders' interests, learn more about a foundation's giving history, write proposals that accurately and effectively represent your program to a particular funder, and continue to build the relationship by submitting quality reports.

Team up with other organizations in your building to sponsor a joint workshop, or have me come in just to talk to your staff. Workshop runs from 1 - 3 hours, depending on the content you want me to cover and whether you want me to critique a grant you have written.
Curricula
I designed, researched, and wrote curricula for two advocacy organizations. Research was certainly the cornerstone of my work, as I searched for information on long-term refugees around the world (a pitiful situation, with some 19 million people displaced) and amazing medical and hi-tech breakthroughs in Israel. I wrote lesson plans, teachers’ guides, worksheets, tests, and resource kits, supervising a research assistant at The David Project. I also designed handouts, such as the image to the right, which shows types of governments in the Middle East. Finally, I organized schools to pilot CAMERA’s curriculum, then revised the materials based on teacher feedback.
Manuals/Technical Support
When a client needed help with the website I had created for her, I wrote a help manual, giving step by step instructions and screen shots showing her what to do. (see sample at right) Similarly, I created the Help section for Polymap software, explaining both how to use each feature of the software, as well as why you’d choose that particular feature. I’ve also trained clients on how to use software, and worked with staff to improve their writing skills for their webpages.
